5. What do you want talking to your readers?
I ’ m not 100% sure what this question means (sorry). But if you are asking what I would say to the people reading this, then it would be the following: Whatever you do as a job, it ’ s a good idea to practice your writing skills. There ’ s an old saying that goes, “ You only get one chance to make a first impression.” You know what this means – if the first time you meet someone at work they are wearing a clown costume, it ’ s hard not to laugh (pun intended). If the first time you meet someone they look bedraggled and unwashed, that ’ s going to affect your perception of them. Similarly, if someone writes to tell me “ Your an idiot!” then this isn ’ t conveying the message they hoped it impart (it should be “ You ’ re an idiot ” or “ You are an idiot!”). The point is that if you send someone an email, or write them a note, and you make mistakes in your grammar or punctuation, then their opinion of you is going to be diminished. |

@pluson #8 应该是“ What would you say if you were talking with your readers?"/"What would you say to your readers?"。Talk to 是训话。

A lot of students ask me about the difference between talk to and talk with. The answer is that there ’ s essentially NO difference when two people are having a conversation, and both of them are speaking. You can say “ Sue is talking to John ” or “ Sue is talking with John ” – they ’ re the same! Some people claim that talk to should be used when it ’ s only one person speaking, and talk with should be used when it ’ s more of a two-sided discussion. However, in practice, many native speakers use both interchangeably. Here are some examples. Can I talk to you for a minute? = Can I talk with you for a minute? Brian ’ s over there, talking to Matt. = Brian ’ s over there, talking with Matt. I talked to my boss and she said I could take a day off. = I talked with my boss and she said I could take a day off. |

想要做某事是 want to do 啊。。。 What do you want to talk to your readers? (want doing (UK) = need doing = need to be done) |
